Project Results

The proposed intellectual will provide an overview and the detailed description of the most demanded profiles taking as a baseline the report of the European Automotive Sector Skills Council going further and specifying the detailed skills and competences demanded by at least 3 new professional profiles for smart specialization and innovation in the automotive sector: (i) Product engineer, (ii) Process engineer, (iii) Research and development engineer. More profiles will be added depending on the outcomes of the surveys undertaken.

MODULAR TRAINING ITINERARIES AND METHODOLOGY
Design modular units structured around the profiles identified in IO1. Definition of learning objectives and contents, outcomes and assessment criteria in line with EU Skills and qualifications tools. Analyze and define required resources (technical, human, time or economical). With the aim to combine theoretical and practical knowledge, the methodology will be adapted to train both VET and engineering profiles. The objective is the professionalization and implementation in the factory of the acquired knowledge, having as target profiles both, and looking for teamwork for a better professional results.

COURSEWARE DESIGN OF THE PRACTICAL TRAINING SCHEME BASED IN REAL AUTOMOTIVE SECTOR PROCESSES
Design of active learning exercises for each training unit and training materials. Analyze and select real mechanical design processes to obtain practical exercises that will complement the theoretical contents. Courseware based on a problem-project based learning practical approach and case studies in the automotive sector will be developed and multimedia materials will be the base of the training. Development and adptation to an e-learning format in order to ensure its open access through existing e-learning platforms such as MOOC, MOODLE or specific open platforms from the partners.

GUIDE FOR THE UPTAKE OF DUAL SYSTEM FOR THE FUTURE
AUTOMOTIVE SECTOR
Design of a guide for Dual/Alternate apprenticeships and work learning schemes in the automotive sector based on an international network of companies, training and education providers and research and innovation centers. The guide will be an innovative product targeting transversal aspects related to the implementation and uptake of a dual scheme in Higher education, plus specific recommendations for the automotive sector in line with the IOs developed previously.
The Guide will be exploited by the companies, research centers and HEI that will engage within the network so the signature of Memorandums of Understanding will be fostered in order to establish formal links that will allow the effective implementation of dual training systems of students in HE with an international mobility component.
